There’s a red hot wind that is blowin’;
     This conservative movement is a-growin..
We want change.

There’s a real “grass-roots” movement.
     Were lettin’ Washington know that
We want change.

Back when the government was smaller,
     Presidents were more than organizers…
We want change.

We want change; we want change.
     We want to go back to our glory days.
We want change; we want change.
     What we’ve got now..
You know it ain’t the American way.

Back when our taxes were much lower,
     And the nation’s debt was growing slower.
We want change.

Health care was left up to the doctors.
     Special interests didn’t own the Congress.
We want change.

Back when there wasn’t any czars,
     And the government wasn’t making cars.
We want change.

We want change; we want change.
     We want to go back to our glory days.
We want change; we want change.
     What we’ve got now.
You know it ain’t the American way.

Independence and freedom made this country great-
     Not our dependence on the nanny state.
From the cradle to the grave,
     That’s the promise that they’ve made.
Let’s turn back now.
     I pray it’s not too late, not too late.
