Friends In Heavenly Places
Friends in Heavenly Places

My life was a mess; I gotta confess-
Always had to go my own way.
I had no peace, and that had to cease;
I was alone at the end of each day.
I saw the light and finally got right;
Realizing that I was lost;
I know it’s true-the things that I’m tellin’ you;
They happened at the foot of the cross.
Now I’ve got a Friend in heavenly places;
And He laid down His life in order to save us.
Took my sins away, and now I’m proud to say,
“I once was blind, but now I see that
I was once lost; now I believe in Jesus.
Oh, I’ve got a Friend in heavenly places.”
I was drifting along; my life was all wrong—
Tossed round by life’s stormy seas.
Headin’ for the rocks, I knew I was lost
When I finally got down on my knees,
To God I prayed that day I got saved.
So glad I asked Him into my heart-
It’s because of Him, you know that I’m born again.
He’s given me brand-new start.
Now I’ve got a Friend in heavenly places;
And He laid down His life in order to save us.
Took my sins away, and now I’m proud to say,
“I once was blind, but now I see that
I was once lost; now I believe in Jesus.
Oh, I’ve got a Friend in heavenly places.”
I’ve got a Friend in heavenly places;
And He laid down His life in order to save us.
Took my sins away, and now I’m proud to say
That I once was blind, but now I see that
I was once lost; now I believe in Jesus.
Oh, I’ve got a Friend in heavenly places.”
