Finding My Religion
Finding My Religion
Lyrics © 2010 by Dennis L. Harrison
Here am I… falling on my knees, begging for forgiveness.
I’m tired of the darkness-
Like a black cloud over me
Blocking all my vision so I cannot see.
Would You help me, please?
That’s me at the altar.
That’s me at the altar, finding my religion.
Won’t You please listen to my confession?
I’m repentant.
Did I pray too much? I haven’t prayed enough.
I thought that I heard You calling.
I thought that I heard my name.
I think…I thought…
I heard… my name.
I need Your light. Won’t You shine it bright?
I need it every hour—
Like a candle shining from a hill
Or a tower, guide me safely.
Beaming Your love on me,
Would You set me free?
So here am I, so humbled, finding my religion.
With no way to repay,
How can I thank You?
I know I’m saved by grace and Your loves embrace.
I thought that I heard You calling;
I thought that I heard my name.
I think…I thought…I heard… my name.
I’m gonna praise Your name,
I’m gonna praise Your name.
Oh, life is better—
Much better than I could ever tell you
Since that Son-lit day.
How can I thank You…
For giving life to me?
You’ve set me free.
I thought that I heard You calling,
I thought that I heard my name.
I think…I thought…I heard… my name.
I’m gonna praise Your name,
I’m gonna praise Your name,
I’m gonna praise Your name,
Praise Your name.. Your name.
