American Dream

It’s my time; I’ve paid my dues.
     All the hard work singing these tunes..
My dream came true.
     It’s my turn; I’ve won the fight.
Old things have passed all things are new.
     My dream came true.

My dream came true;
     My American dream came true.
I took a chance, I sacrificed,
     I gave my all, I paid the price.
Yes, my dream came true;
     My American dream came true.
America, I thank you,
     My dream came true.

Not so very long ago, I was just a traveler in the valley.
     Dark and lonely, all alone,
I started climbing,
     and the next thing that I knew-
You were beside me.
     Now I’ve made this mountaintop my home.
