The Lord Gently Weeps

He rode into town on a colt that He’d
     borrowed.
The crowd laid their cloths on the
     ground.
They waved flags of palms and they
     shouted hosanna!
Then our Lord gently weeps.

CHORUS
I don’t know why you won’t accept
     Him.
And you’d reject Him right now.
     Why don’t you come to the One who
can save you?
     The One who gave His life for you.

And He said, O Jerusalem, I would
     have gathered you under My wings,
Like a mother hen with her chicks.
     Because you would not, you have
missed our visitation.
     And that’s why the Lord gently
weeps.

CHORUS 2

     Why don’t you come to the One who

     The One who gave His life for you.
That’s why He gently weeps for you!

You know that life is short and time
     is so fleeting.
That’s why the Lord gently weeps.
     He looks at your life and it’s just like
a vapor.
     That’s why the Lord gently weeps!
