CHORUS
This is what happened to Jesus
     the week of His death.
These are the things Jesus told them
     the week of His death.
The Lord saw a fig tree it was
     lavish and green.
Then He cursed the bare tree, it was
     not what it seemed.
And after it died, to the temple He
     went.

The House of the Lord was so
     spiritually bent!
And He threw them all out, money
     changers and all.
Turned the tables and told how their
     Temple would fall.
He went to the “Mount” after work
     every night.
He had to do this, to stay out of their
     sight.

REPEAT CHORUS
Jesus healed the blind and He healed
     the lame.
The priest said: “In whose Name do
     you do all these things?
The Pharisees agreed they wanted
     Him dead
But many others want to praise Him
     instead
He called the Sanhedrin “you
     venomous snakes” and how their
prayer robes were empty and fake!
Love the Lord your God above all else and
love your neighbor as you love yourself.

REPEAT CHORUS

An alabaster jar filled with costly
     perfume.
She poured on the Lord to anoint for
     His tomb.
Some got all upset, said “the gift was
     a waste!”
But “she’ll be remembered” is what
     Jesus saith.
The devil drove Judas straight to the
High Priest and a plan was hatched for
him to deceive
Thirty silver coins Judas was to receive.
“Go find Jesus alone.” is all that they’d
     need.

There’s so much more to this story
We’d have to write a whole new song
to tell it
This “Holy Week” ends up in glory.
He did all this so we can belong…
     All belong.

CHORUS 2
Those things all happened to Jesus the
     week of His death
Those are the words Jesus told them the
     week of His death!
