When Dennis and Jesse met, they played in another band for three years where they learned to appreciate each other’s musical talents. They also met Bill Watson (drummer) and Bobby Rider (lead electric guitar). Rieder was a remarkable guitarist despite being born blind! In 2005 the four started a music group called the Spirit Driven Band, and between Dennis Harrison and Jesse McCuin, they have written the music and lyrics to over 125 songs, Some were written together as co-writers, but usually, they write alone. Bobby Rider left the band and moved to Texas. Bill Watson also had to leave and was replaced by Mike Wiley. Mike and newcomer, guitarist/vocalist, Landes Dung, play on occasion at live concerts. The lyrics to McCuin’s songs tell stories of his fight with addiction and how he overcame through faith. Harrison writes many of his songs about the changes needed by people to overcome the issues of life and also has penned songs using scripture verses as lyrics. The band has recorded nine original albums, the lyrics to many other songs, and have most recently recorded 5 DVD music videos of the same songs used in their services. The group decided early on that they would play their music where the people needed their message the most. Prisons, jails, missions and recovery groups like Teen Challenge and Celebrate Recovery is where the band normally holds their music concerts.
