Just Pray
Just Pray

He was only four weeks old when we brought him in.
With a temperature a hundred and five, it was lookin’ grim.
The doctor said, “He has pneumonia in both his lungs;
It can be fatal in the very old and the very young
What could we do? What did we learn?
When the wheel of life we’re on took a hard left turn,
We just prayed; just pray.
When your backs up against the wall, all you can do is pray.
We were sittin’ round the table; the meal was done.
Just talkin’ bout our day and havin’ fun.
When the doctor called and said, “Your test results are in,
And tomorrow, the battle for your life will begin.”
What could we do? What could we learn?
When the wheel of life we’re on took a hard left turn,
We just prayed; just pray…
When your backs up against the wall, all we can do is pray.
You can’t worry ’bout tomorrow-
There’s enough trouble for today.
In this life there’s lots of pain and sorrow,
And we’ll all need to bow our heads and pray.
I gave you two examples taken from my life-
One about my son, the other’s about my wife.
Now they’re doing fine; the Lord did see us through.
When life’s trials come, I know just what to do.
What could we do? What did we learn?
When the wheel of life we’re on took a hard left turn.
We just prayed, just pray…
When your back’s up against the wall, All you can do is pray.
When your back’s up against the wall,
All you can do is pray.
When your back’s up against the wall,
All you can do is pray.
