I’ve got a longing in my soul to see that crystal river flow
From the throne of God,
Coursing down the golden streets.
I’ll bow down and worship at His feet.
Maybe I’ve got work to do.
I could help somebody choose.
I could help someone down here.
Be a friend that is kind and sincere.
Maybe help someone get through.
Help the Lord spread His good news.
For now Heaven will have to wait;
I’ve got work to do.
I’ve got a longing in my soul.
There is this place I’d love to go;
It’s always bright and never dark or night
Because the Lord is the Light.
You know, maybe I’ve got work to do.
I could help somebody choose.
I could help someone down here.

Help the Lord spread His good news.
For now Heaven will have to wait;
I’ve got work to do.
One day I’ll look into His face
And be with Him in that perfect place.
Until my Savior calls me home,
I’ll tell people that in Christ they’re not alone.
