Lyrics by Dennis L. Harrison/Jesse L. McCuin

It was two in the morning, and I just couldn’t sleep;
     I didn’t want to wake up my wife.
The business of the day was weighin’ hard on my mind;
     There’s way too much trouble and strife.
I need some peace in my life;
     On the Psalms I’m gonna rely.

God has seen me tossing and turning,
     Just trying to get through the night.
He’s preserved my tears in a bottle-
     Recorded them in His book of life.
This very day I’ll call for help, and the tide of the battle will turn.
     I know God’s for me; I’m trusting God.

It is two months later; all the pressure is gone.
     Oh, thank God, I’ve got back my drive.
I give Him all the praise for turning it all around.
     He dealt with this old world and its jive.
I found some peace in my life-
     On the Psalms I’m glad I relied.

God has seen me tossing and turning,
     Just trying to get through the night.
He’s preserved my tears in a bottle-
     Recorded them in His book of life.
The very day I called for help, the tide of the battle has turned.
     I know God’s for me; I’m trusting God.

Oh, praise His promises;
     I’m not afraid of anything mere man can do.
Yes, praise His promises,
     My confidence is in You.

God has seen you tossing and turning,
     Just trying to get through the night.
He’s preserved your tears in a bottle-
     Recorded them in His book of life.
The very day you call for help, the tide of the battle will turn.
     I know God’s for me; I’m trusting God.

I know God’s for me; I’m trusting God.
     I know God’s for me; I’m trusting God.
