From the manger to the cross
Such great gain from such great loss.
Could there be another way?
“Let this cup pass,” He would pray.
Born in Bethlehem afar.
Kings and shepherds saw His star.
Knew He was God’s only Son:
Mary was the chosen one.
He grew in stature
So grew His wisdom too.
Though just a little boy,
He knew what He must do.
From the temple to the sea,
Sayin’, “Brother, follow Me.
Healin’ sick and blind and lame
People calling out His name.
Then those who praised Him,
Screamed. “Nail Him to the cross!”
He could have called His angels,
But the world would then be lost.
Then those who praised Him,
Scream, “Nail Him to the cross!”
He could have called His angels,
But the world would then be lost.
From the cross down to the grave
Rose again the world to save.
Such great gain trom such great loss
From the manger to the cross.
